Operation Crossroads: Bikini Atoll: Naval Art form the Atomic Bomb Test
The Naval Historical Center maintains a collection of artworks dealing with operations of the US Navy. The collection includes a number of works depicting the 1946 Bikini Atoll nuclear tests. The Center notes that "a large media contingent was present" as well as three official Navy/Marine artists: Grant Powers, Arthur Beaumont, and Charles Bittinger.
